The academic excellence of Ntare School is historical. When still in its bad in the late 1950s, the school rose to the highest ranks in the country in both academic and co-curricular activities. The brilliant performance was steadily maintained until the dark days of 1970s and early 1980s. However, with the stability of the political atmoshere in the country, the rays of excellence have shone again on Ntare School. Since 1990, the academic performance has been improving year after year. A case in point was a UCE candidate of 1999, by the names of Mugume Seith, who scored aggregate 9 in the 9 subjects he sat. This broke the record that had been set by Engineer Bernard Kisembo in E.A.C.E 1976 when he scored aggregate 9 in the 8 subjects.

To further promote academic excellence, the Ntare School Old Boys Association (NSOBA) pledged a two-year bursary at Ntare School for all those students at O'level who pass with aggregate 6 in 6 subjects and a token of 1.5 million Uganda shillings to any A'level student who scores Tripple A in 3 subjects. In addition, the Board of Governors also pledged a bursary for a term to any student who performs best in his class.
Ntare has not obtained her best, nonetheless; "where there is a will, there is a way". The sky is the limit.
